Pelican's Nest visitor "Cooper" came with his family/group to help plant and protect a rare endangered plant along the "New River" south of Bandon
The rare plant that we were outplanting is Oenothera wolfii (Wolf's evening primrose). It has a showy yellow flower when in bloom. Listed as Threatened by the State of Oregon primarily because of loss of habitat (mostly due to the European beach grass) and potential hybridization with an escaped garden cultivar of the same genus. I am attaching a picture of the rare one in bloom...RC
